Extra credit Blog_ What can you do with as a English Major

On the 1st of May,2012, I had the opportunely to explore the possibilities of a English major. English is very important for anyone in America to be successful. If one can  communicate well, than one can get their points across and  try to get want they want. Being a English major can help communicate and have successful jobs. Since I am a lib-art/ history major, i will need to have a strong connection to the English language and I will need to take many English/writing classes.  English will be good for me to know because, i think I might want to work as an Urban planner and/or public relations. Those jobs will require a strong English background as, i will have to communicate with the public everyday.

Final Blog

In this blog, I will reflect on the American Food system and it's overall meaning for me. In my opinion, everyone in America should know where their food comes from.  it is important to know only a small amount of companies  control the majority of the food system. Companies such as Smithfield Foods (Who is the largest producer of pork products in the world.) Tyson Foods (the largest producer of chicken products), PepsiCo, had great power over how the food system works. The food companies get billions of dollars to fund there food operations by the governments of the United States. without government money the food system might not be profitable. Thru out the semester, I learned a lot about the food system and how it's produces our food.  I never knew how many waste and toxic the food companies produce everyday in to our environment and  food. I also never knew the billions of taxpayers dollars the food companies gets from our governments.it always seems like the food industry and government always get closer and closer together.Although by contrast, my eating habits have  stayed  the same. I most likey will eat the same foods. Although I knew how the food is produce, it still don't brother me to change my eating habits.
